Before the muscle car era, in 1958, Ford produced the Galaxie for the companys full-size line. The car never sold well due to poor aerodynamics, heavy weight, and was viewed as uninspired styling. The company put forth effort to gain interest due to the Space Race of the 1960s. During that era, Ford began to produce more appealing Galaxie models that offered good performance. By 1969, buyers were drawn to cars that offered luxury. Lately, the Ford Galaxies have become rarer and more collectible. Ford Galaxies are often used as parade cars.
The 1969 Galaxie was built on a new chassis with a wheelbase of 121 inches. Engine options were upgraded. The interior now came with headrests. The dash was built as a pod around the driver rather than the prior years looks of extending across the dash. Below the taillights was a trim panel.
This 1969 Ford Galaxie convertible is a fun car to drive! The exterior is red, and the convertible top is white. The boot over is black so when you put the top down, it matches the black interior. The paint is in good driver condition. The body is straight and solid. The convertible top works very well and is in good condition, good detailing would make it look new. Trim and chrome bumpers appear to be original.
The black bucket seat interior is in very good condition with no rips or tears. The black padded dash is in very good condition. The woodgrain trim on the right side of the dash and on the door panels the trim is also very good. Door panels are the same black vinyl as the seats and have woodgrain trim for a nice accent. The instrument panel has clear glass. The steering wheel is wrapped to keep it looking nice. Under the dash is a radio with a CD player.
The 390 CID V8 engine is strong. Transmission is automatic and it shifts very well. It is very fun to drive!
Options on the 1969 Ford Galaxie convertible are a heater, cigarette lighter, clock, and power top. The power top is in great working condition and went up and down with no issues.
This great and very fun 69 Galaxie convertible is in Kentucky. It is available for viewing by appointment only and by serious buyers only.
